About Alex

The Student of the Month for April of 2010 is Alex Callahan. Alex has been taking piano lessons with Virginia Morgan since August of 2008.

Alex is a very self-motivated student, and in his own words he, “Always tries his best.” He always arrives to his lesson a little bit early and even though his teacher may not be ready for him, he immediately goes into a free studio to warm up and get ready for his lesson. (After politely asking if he may do so first, of course!)

Alex’s favorite piece is Hickory Dickory Dock. He likes taking piano lessons with Ms. Ginny because she’s, “Fun!” When not working on his piano studies, Alex likes to play baseball. He also enjoys playing outside, and especially likes to squirt water at his brother!

About the Student of the Month Program

A student is selected by the Academy Director after consulting with the student’s instructor. Some of the accomplishments and behaviours considered when making this choice include: exceptional musical progress, consistent practice habits, a strong desire to perform, excellent attendance record, self-motivation, behaviour while on campus, and more. Each Student of the Month gets a $20 gift certificate for our school store.
