Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from all of us here at The Maryland Academy of Music. We had a pretty exciting 2009.

Some of our major landmarks last year include:

  • First Group Class: Our Introduction to Music Theory class went quite well!
  • New Faculty: Alessandra Cuffaro, Simeone Tartaglione, and Sven Rainey joined our ranks.
  • Online Store: We launched a store on eBay, which continues to grow.
  • Web Page Improved: Our web page got a major re-vamping.
  • Faculty Recital: Attendees enjoyed the first formal recital presented by our faculty.
  • School Store: Our school store moved to the back room and our selection expanded

  • We look forward to continuing to work with you in 2010, or to seeing you return if we haven’t heard from you recently.

Some of our goals and expectations for this year include:

  • More Group Classes: Music Theory returns, with new classes for Songwriting and Beginning Guitar.
  • Performance Workshops: Our seasonal masterclasses change to a monthly program in March.
  • One-Hundred Strong: We expect to hit 100 regular students by Spring!
  • Lecture/Discussion Series: Join me for informal talks on Listening to Music.
  • If you have any additional suggestions or needs, then feel free to let me know.

I greatly look forward to a fantastic 2010!

    Regards,

    Scott D. Farquhar, Director
